The size of Costa Rica is 51,060 sq km. Costa Rica is shaped like a prorupted state. CostabRica is located in Central America, bordering both the Carribean sea and the North Pacific ocean. Its border countries are: Nicaragua annd Panama. The absolute location of Costa Rica is 10 00 N, 84 00 W. Costa Rica is mainly coastal plains separated by rugged mountains including over 100 volcanic cones, of which several are major volcanoes. Only two are active. In Costa Rica, 64% of its total population lives in urban areas. An important area in Costa Rica is its capital San Jose. It doesn't really have any other key cities but some of its national parks and exotic beaches are most visited. Costa Rica had a border dispute with Nicaragua with the San Juan River. The dispute was resolved in 2009, but the most recent ongoing dispute that began October 2010 is regarding the dreding of San Juan River, in the area of Isla Calero (Wikipedia).
The GNP of Costa Rica is $56.49 Billion and the GDP is $41.01 Billion (Public Data). In Costa Rica the major sectors in the economy are:agriculture-6.3%, industry-21.7%, and services-72%. The major exports of Costa Rica are: bananas, pineapples, coffee, melons, ornamental plants, sugar, corn, rice, beans,potatoes; beef, poultry, dairy; timber. The major imports of Costa Rica are mainly raw materials for industry and mining (Costa Rica- Foreign Trade). Trading partners are:U.S., China, Netherlands, UK, Mexico, and Japan. The HDI of Costa Rica is 0.744 (Wikipedia) which tells me that Costa Rica has a lower life expectancy, literacy rate, education, and income. The stage of economic development is stage 3 because Costa Rica is still developing.
